September 22, 2009The 2009 Halifax Pop Explosion is about to get a lot louder as Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada-based, heavy metal label Diminished Fifth Records has announced its official showcase at the annual festival. The Diminished Fifth Showcase will take place Thursday, October 22 at the Toothy Moose and will feature local favorites BLACK MOOR and THY FLESH CONSUMED as well as Fredericton's WE, THE UNDERSIGNED and Charlottetown's UIGG.
"After the success of last year's showcase we are incredibly excited to be working once again, with the Pop Explosion," commented Josh Hogan, who runs Diminished Fifth Records. "Not only are we honored to be showcasing a style of music which is often overlooked by masses but this show will see the label's four most recent signings all sharing one stage for the first time!"
The showcase will also serve as the official Halifax CD-release show for the label's two upcoming albums: "Bleed the Constants", the debut full-length by WE, THE UNDERSIGNED (due October 13, 2009) and "Unrepentant" by THY FLESH CONSUMED (November 10, 2009).
